C.E.O of Emirates Hospital American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine Boston University Dr. Sawaf is a 55 years old Syrian American who trained at Boston University Medical School. He received the American Board of anesthesiology in 1984. Dr. Sawaf completed a fellowship from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Cardiac Anesthesiology and another fellowship from the same university in Critical Care Medicine. Dr Sawaf worked as the chief of cardiac anesthesia at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for six years before going back to the University of California in San Francisco to train in pain management after which he was granted a subspecialty in Pain Management by the American Board of anesthesiology. He established in 1992 at the Long Beach Memorial Hospital the largest pain clinic in Southern California. Dr. Sawaf trained at the McGill University in cosmetic surgery in 1996 after which he established the first Hospital in Riyadh for plastic surgery (The Obagi Hospital). Dr. Sawaf moved to Dubai in 2001 after 17 years of practice in the USA. Currently Dr. Max Sawaf is the CEO of the Emirates Hospitals in Jumeirah (Dubai) and in Abu Dhabi.
